3. How is MEGA MATH different from other tutoring programs?
MEGA MATH is not a tutoring program; it’s an academic enrichment program with a pre-planned curriculum and conceptual framework that is designed to produce meaningful engagement in math, while building kids’ self-efficacy and knowledge. The MEGA MATH philosophy is grounded in the belief that young kids learn most effectively when they are in fun and social settings, where they are given enough attention, challenging material, and nurturing guidance to boost their learning. Other tutoring programs are certainly helpful for kids and many children learn math from them; In MEGA MATH, kids learn, have fun, and enhance their social skills. We call MEGA MATH kids “young mathematicians,” because that’s what we believe they are and that’s how we want them to see themselves. MEGA MATH kids want to come back to class. They enjoy the learning process. MEGA MATH is distinctive in its format, instructional delivery, and philosophical foundation.
